2019: Another year, another season is rapidly ending. Fall is right up on our doorsteps, and this means it is time to put away those shorts, tank tops, and open-toe shoes and start buying stylish things will keep looking cute while still keeping you warm during those brisk Fall winds.
Every season, I always give you a rundown on what’s hot and what’s not in the fashion world. It will surprise you what will endure into the Fall fashion season and what is going to be thrown out. Fortunately, for you have your girl Gigi is here to give you a quick rundown that will keep you ahead of the curve without having to put too much effort.
I have always loved Satin. It’s a sexy and luxurious fabric that makes me think of satin sheets. It was all over the catwalks at New York Fashion Week from (designer to designer). You bet your bottom dollar you will see this fabric everywhere in the fashion blogosphere. I know, I know Satin is hella expensive, but there are some cheap and eco-conscious alternatives such as (fabric, fabric, fabric).
Also, wearing anything satin is an easy way to dress up any outfit in a hurry. This fabric is totally a closet staple.
Let’s be honest, Capes will always be on this list no matter if it’s 1950 or 2019. Capes are dramatic but elegant. Capes always make a statement and again just like Satin you should already have at least one cape in your wardrobe (and if you don’t, run out right now and buy one).
They totally going to be handy during this fall transitional season. Capes are easy to put on and take off; then you can store it somewhere when it gets a little too hot.
3. Tiny Handbag
If you have been paying attention trends for the last few years, you probably saw the tiny bags coming back into style a mile away! First, it was the belt bag (which is still everywhere), but now the tiny handbag trend has a return! This was super popular in the ’90s, but just like with movies and tv fashion loves to reboot trends. This trend is especially was all over Fashion week from Louis Vuitton to Balenciaga.
4. Highlighter Heels
The neon trend has been one of the most enduring trends for the last few years. Now, that trend has slipped into shoes! Highlighter neon pumps and heels will be EVERYWHERE! They are totally a throwback to the 80s and I adore them. Adding a pair of these highlighter heels to your wardrobe will keep you looking fashionable for years to come.
5. Huge Coats, Big Shoulders
Another reboot of an 80s trend. Huge coats with big broad shoulders continue to be a thing. if you love Humphrey Bogart style trench coats, your time has finally come! It doesn’t take much to realize that the huge coat with broad shoulders are here to stay!
6. Purple and Yellow
The two colours that dominated Fashion week was Millenia Purple and Egg Yolk Yellow. These colours are going all across the style blogosphere. You would think these colours would be more Spring than Fall. Lately, that conventional wisdom has been thrown out of the window with the most popular fashion designers. If you got these colours already in your closet in your Spring/Summer Wardrobe, don’t pack them away! You will still get a lot of use during the Fall.
7. Asymmetrical Necklines
For the last few years, cold shoulders were the hottest trend. This year, designers take that a little further with Asymmetrical Necklines. Again, it’s a fashion trend you would think would be more at home in the Spring/Summer but in the last three or four years, designers have no problem showing some skin in the colder months.
These are my 7 essential fashion trends for 2019. What do you think? What are your favourite trends this season? Let me know down in the comments!
