confessions of a shopahlic charlotte russe - ap woman on a laptop with her cat .

I love to shop, but the problem is that I don’t have a lot of money to shop all the times I want to. Then add to the complication of being a plus size woman in a world that caters to mostly straight sizes and then you really have trouble on your hands!  However, with my confessions of a shopaholic, I want to make it easier for all of my plus size women out there on a budget by not only telling you the best places to shop but to give you advice on how to get the best bang for your buck. I will be also reviewing the places I shop from and give you my honest opinions and thoughts. I will be doing COS once a month, but you can keep up with every new post by scrolling to the bottom of the post to subscribe to my blog so you won’t miss another post!

This month’s confession of a shopaholic is Charlotte Russe.  Before I created this blog, I never really knew about Charlotte Russe. I actually got the store recommended to me by Fat Girl Flow. I went to Charlotte Russe and was surprised to not only to see things in my size but a reasonable and affordable price too!

Charlotte Russe Store In Dulles Town Center

About The Store

Charlotte Russe is women’s clothing store chain that is based out of San Diego, Californa. It was started in 1975 by the Lawerence Brothers originally in Carlsbad, California as a straight-sized clothing brand. It was later expanded to countrywide mall chain stores, but it was eventually bought out by Saunders Karp & Megrue. In 2015, the brand launched Charlotte Russe+ and it expanded it sizes to 3X.

What I Like

There is a lot of plus size brands that think that all fat women should be dressed as conservatively as nuns. However, I love that brands are now opening up avenues for a younger demographic that demand trendy sexy clothes. Charlotte Russe main demographic seems to caters to the teens – early twenties. A huge bulk of their merchandise is tight and revealing clothing like body-con dresses and sheer tops.  Fortunately, Charlotte Russe has a good variety of more conservative clothing for women like me who prefers to not to show off a whole lot skin.  There was a huge sale in January and I bought a gorgeous jumpsuit and rose-colored ruffled cold shoulder dress. The prices are the best hands down if you shop the clearance section of the site you can often find items for as low as $5. I actually bought my dress for $7.

As for the delivery, it didn’t take too long to get there; it took about a week to arrive  As for the items themselves, I loved wearing them, I’m both a size 26 and 5’11, so fit is super important to me.  Both items both fit like a dream, and actually, the length of the jumpsuit didn’t make me look like I was wearing high waters.

It also washes very well, I had no problems with the items falling apart in the wash at all. When you are buying cheap clothing, it is always a bit hit or miss when it comes to the quality. Fortunately, with Charlotte Russe, I had zero complaints.

What I Don’t Like

Honestly, the only thing I don’t like is nothing to do with the clothing or with the brand itself. It’s more to do with its constant sales. Seriously, Charlotte Russe is always having sales and it is a huge temptation to have to wait to get paid to buy something. And since I’m on their email list, I get emails about once a day and the struggle is real ya’ll!.

Overall Thoughts

Charlotte Russe is a store I can’t recommend highly enough. I love their stuff, and I would totally buy from them again. Actually, I plan on buying some more jumpers and rompers from them when my check comes. So, I would totally stay tuned for that. What do you guys think? Do you love or hate Charlotte Russe?  Do you recommend any other stores I should check out?  Let me know down in the comments!
