My Top 7 Must Have Autumn Trends For 2018!

It’s my favorite time of year: Autumn! From the color palettes to fabrics is the reason I love Autumn.  And with the hopefully cooler weather around the corner, I thought it would this would be a great time to talk about the favorite trends that will be exploding over the fashion world.

1 ) Blanket Jackets

Blanket Jackets have been all over the runway this season. I love them because they are so versatile and super easy to wear. Two things that I absolutely am my wheelhouse. I also blame my friend Martina Pollard from Reverie of Roses and her endless supply blanket jackets.

2 ) Animal Print

I LOVE a good print,  from Gingham to Floral I just love all the prints. I also love Animal Prints, because not only are they considered a neutral item in its own right. You can just pop an animal print of your choice (my favorite cheetah print) and it really just spices up any outfit.

3) Color Tights

The biggest thing I love is color, bright bold, and attention-getting. One of my favorite trends this season and on the runway was the color tights. They are so much fun to play with, and can add a bit of character to your outfit, but also will keep your but warm all autumn and winter long.

4) Pioneer Woman

I think this trend took me by surprise. I wasn’t really expecting it to be as big as it was on the runway this past Fashion Week. However, I am surprised here for it! Maybe it’s the Texan in my coming out to play (we do love our western style/pioneer look down here)?

5)  Totally 80’s

The eighties trend is still in full effect and won’t be disappearing anytime soon. I’ve seen eighties everything from movies (hello Wonder Woman 1984) to politics (Cold War 2.0 anyone), and the fashion. From Big Shoulders, Bodysuits, Leggings, to Tailored suits. As it is always with style trends, what’s old is new again.

6) Huge Bags

As a proud wearer of kitchen sink bags (aka bag that you can literally throw everything including my laptop in), this is hands down my favorite trend. Huge freaking bags were all over the runway in the Autumn fashion week and I was enthusiastically happy to see them return.

7) Plaid

Yet another pattern on the list. Don’t act like you are surprised. Plaid for me is the classic Autumn pattern and it’s an absolute staple. However, you are going to see plaid all over the fashion blogosphere! And the thing is this is a trend you can wear for many seasons to come.

What are you favorite Autumn trends?  Let me know down in the comments!

  1. I’m reading so many posts on autumnal wardrobe and wish SO BAD I could be experiencing the season somewhere beautiful. As lovely as Malaysia’s hot and humid all-year-round weather is, it IS nice to experience a change.

I love plaid the most out of all 7 things you listed but if blanket jackets are appropriate for the weather here (it is SO not), I would have a collection of them in my closet for sure!

    1. Hi Liyana! Thanks for stopping by! And I sort of know how you feel, it is just now getting cold in my neck of the woods. So it’s it was totally frustrating not to be diving into all of these autumn trends. I really need to add Malaysia to my travel bucklist. I heard it that it makes it up for it’s humid weather with how beautiful it is. Also, plaid, all day every day, in any variation. It’s one of my favorite autumn patterns.

      1. Oh yes, Malaysia is definitely special in its own way. I hope when you do get to visit it someday, you’ll love it as much as I do. I know I complained a lot about how hot and humid it is (hahaha oopsie) but to be honest sometimes I am really glad I don’t have to go through winter every single year! But autumn on the other hand, ahhh, I just miss it.
