No, do not adjust your monitor! I will be not talking about fashion (even though this is a fashion blog) and I’m going to be talking decor. When it comes to holidays, my mom is decor-in-chief. When we were growing up, and long before she married my stepdad, Bruce. My mother was a single parent living working and on public housing assistance. And due to being on housing we moved every year as a kid.
What my mom desired most in the world was to own a home. A place big enough to have our own room, and for her to decorate the house with no pesky rules from the landlord. Twenty years ago, in my senior of a year of high school, my parents made my mom’s dream a reality. And every season, my mom decorates to her heart’s content.
If you follow me on Instagram (and you really should), you know probably seen my video tours of my living room. It’s like the holidays threw up in there, but it makes my mom so happy to do it. And no, she does not stop at decorating for Thanksgiving. My mother decorates for every major holiday. On Easter, our house was full of bunny rabbits and Easter eggs.
When it comes to decor, my mom loves autumn palettes and homemade crafts. So you will see a lot of that in our living room right now. My favourite, of course, is the cut out electronic cut out lanterns. You will also see things hanging from the ceiling and the small adorable pumpkins leftover from our Halloween jaunt to our neighbourhood pumpkin patch.
This is my decorations or rather my mother’s decorations for Thanksgiving! Do you decorate for Thanksgiving? And if so how do you decorate? Anyway, I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I will see you guys on Friday for my link up!
