African American Reverend and parishioners in front of church

Easter is over, but if you one of those people who drag themselves to Church every Sunday. You probably have that moment of panicking over what you to wear to church. I know in 2018, there are plenty of churches that you can just go in jeans and t-shirt. However, if you are a Black person like me, you either dress to the nines or face the disapproval of the rest of the congregation.

I am not Christian, I’m actually more spiritual than religious these days. However, my family is Christian and I am often forced to drag my self to church with the kids every so often when my mother wants to commune with the Lord. And to make it easier, I decided to come up with no not one but TWO outfits that will sure to make you look your Sunday best!

Take Me To Church v.1

Outfit One

First, we start off with this absolutely gorgeous ruffled dress from G.S. Love. G.S. Love has been on my radar for a while, but I haven’t had the opportunity to shop from them yet. However, this dress is tempting me. If you have been paying attention to the trends lately, ruffles are in and they are not going anywhere. Last summer, ruffles were all over the blogosphere. Unfortunately, this dress only comes in a 1x, but don’t worry I have another alternative for you coming up later.

Next is the basic wide-brimmed hat. I am old fashioned, and I love wearing wide brim hats at church. They always bring a touch class look to almost any outfit. Then, I choose strappy fuschia sandals. You guys are smart, and already know that black is a neutral color, so you can use any color of the rainbow as a pop. I decided for once to NOT use red, and instead to use a softer spring inspired fuschia color as one of my accent colors.

So next, I choose this beautiful fuschia Jessica McClintock ruched clutch. This clutch has my two accent colors which are fuschia and silver. I just love this elegant clutch and it’s only $20. As for the jewelry, I again added a beautiful beaded necklace, and then finally a black and silver-tone bracelet.

Outfit Two

Now, this is outfit is a little more accessible for bigger fats. First, of all, it’s from Eloquii and I normally don’t recommend Eloquii because their merchandise is more pricey than I’m normally willing to pay. However, when it comes to formal clothing I often feel that you need to invest a little more than your regular clothing. And this fabulous white plus size dress is something you can wear a white dress to church, out to a fancy dinner, or out dancing. When I am choosing clothing for outfits, I’m almost always looking for multiple uses so you can get bang for your buck!

To match is once again a white brim hat because if I’m going to church I’m going to look as glamorous as possible. Next, is these fantastic Vince Camuto Petina strappy gold sandals. Again, they are a little more pricey than what I usually recommend, but these shoes are gorgeous! And remember metallics are in fact a neutral. So you can wear them with almost anything and add a little sparkle.

Speaking of sparkle, you will notice that the main accent color in this outfit is gold. I love matching white and gold because the color combo immediately makes me feel like a goddess. For the accessories, I choose this metallic gold clutch, gold bracelet, and finally this awesome gold fringe necklace.

And these are my two plus size outfit perfect for a morning at Church. What do you think? Love them or hate them? Let me know down in the comments!
