You guys aren’t probably shocked that I label myself as a proud intersectional feminist. I wear it as a badge of honor! And when I think of feminism, I think of women who are bosses in the workplace and the highest echelons of power. And the best advice I ever got was: “Dress for the position you want.” So what if you are a plus size woman who wants to dress like a boss, but can’t necessarily afford it? Well, this is where I come in with this super affordable and stylish plus size girl boss style inspo post.
Right off the bat, I was on the lookout for the perfect suit. Unfortunately, for most first-time suit buyers suits often come separates and it’s super hard to find which blazer to match with which trousers. So, I went super easy with this easy with this gorgeous double breast pinstriped pantsuit that gives me 80’s feels without the cringe-worthy style choices. It’s from Midnight Velvet, and it’s my favorite new store to shop.
Now, I’m going to suggest as always to buy a size bigger if you can and have it TAILORED! This is so important to really get that polished look and especially if you are on the petite side.
Then, I choose these cute patent leather red pumps for a quick color pop. Remember folks when you don’t have to match the exact colors and when it comes to neutrals such as this navy pantsuit you want a little pop of color. They are two reasons why: 1) The color 2) The height of the heels. When you are running around the office all day, you don’t want super high heels. This is a fancy that media has given us that is not substantial unless you want to do your feet some damage kitten heels or no heels are key to a happy pain-free work day.
Let’s move on to the accessories, shall we? When it comes to suits, it’s my opinion that the suit will always be the center of attention, as it should be. So, I went very subtle with the accessories. First, is this gorgeous gold handled taupe briefcase/tote from eBags. I love eBags they always have such cute bags at low prices.
Then finally, is this simple navy and gold blue watch to match the suit. You all know that I love watches, in this day and age it’s not a necessity but they always add a touch of class to any outfit.
And that is my outfit for a plus size girl boss. What do you think? Let me know down in the comments!
